Pinks! The engine that won!
We had the opportunity to race and appear on the Speed channel show Pinks! this year. The episode was the season premier and aired on February 20, 2008. It has also been rerun twice since its premier. Dayton Performance built the engine and donated all of time and parts for the build.

The engine is a 74 windsor block with a 3.85" cast steel stroker crank with forged steel Eagle rods and Probe donated the dished pistons. The assembly was balanced, and the block was align honed, then decked and torque plate honed to .040 for a final engine displacement of 396 ci.

The timing set is a torrington thrust bearing unit from Dayton Performance.

The engine was blue printed with every clearance being checked and redone until they were within spec. Trick Flow donated the heads and intake for the engine. They sent us their Twisted Wedge R heads and the box R intake manifold. The heads were checked and found to be ready to bolt on. The intake was ported by Michael and matched to the heads perfectly.

The heads were o-ringed and FelPro gaskets were used to seal the heads to the block. The camshaft was provided by CamMotion along with the solid rollers. A DSS girdle and windage tray provided by Dayton Performance rounded out the bottom end. A melling oil pump and ARP driveshaft handled the oiling duties. The engine made well over 700 rwhp with the turbo putting only 14 lbs of boost through the engine.
